Debuting on Warm Communications last year alongside Need For Mirrors & Mikal, HLZ has gone solo & we can’t think of a better release to announce it. “Dying Memories” combines psychedelic guitars with punishing Optical style drums and bass. “Duel” on the flip is a straight up no frills roller with it’s relentless momentum. Double a side drum & bass if we do say so ourselves.
The Brazil-born, London-based producer’s Essential Mix debut arrives nearly a decade after his first-ever release on the Metalheadz label back in 2005. After producing numerous EPs for labels like Soul:R, RAM, Shogun and Hospital Records; two albums, What The Future Holds and Back To Basics; remixes for artists including deadmau5, Chris Malinchak, Claude VonStroke and scene stalwart LTJ Bukem; plus countless throwdowns at festivals, he’s more than earned it.
Drum & bass stalwarts Black Sun Empire are to follow up a trio of recent EPs from The Upbeats, Neonlight and Pythius with the release of ‘Until The World Ends’ – a five-track, collaborative EP with NZ duo State Of Mind. To be released on January 26th via their genre-defining Blackout imprint, it marks an exciting start to 2015.
Fanu: “Here we go! A new episode of B&B podcast.
A fairly colourful mixture of moods and vibes, going from one to another in a heartbeat, just like I like to do, mixing it all up.
It’s mostly new music, some dubs in there, and I’m wrapping it up with a Lightless dub from Moresounds
Had a good caffeine rush on when I started so I had to down a beer in the middle of the set to calm down a bit (I recommend you enjoy bass music with coffee or beer, or both).
What do you think of the artwork? I’m pretty hyped. Done by Ingrid. That bear may have to watch those nails, though.
Here’s the tracklist. Hope ya dig!”
